I am a 70 year old woman and I started to practice Falun Dafa in 2004.
One day, my son suddenly said in a serious tone: “Mom, you cannot practice Falun Dafa anymore.” I asked him why? “Don’t you know how ruthless the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) can be?” He answered. “Many Dafa practitioners were arrested and even killed. No one could even find their bodies. You cannot reason with the CCP.” I asked him where he got this information. He told me he read some fliers about the persecution.
In 2011, I was illegally arrested and sentenced to one year in a forced labor camp. After I was released, I continued to go out to tell the truth about Falun Dafa and help people to quit the CCP, so they can be saved. My sons were frightened and tried to stop me. He once appeared at my door, he pointed at my computer and printer: “I’m here to smash these.”
I quickly blocked him. “Son, if you want to smash them, smash me first!”. He reply, “I won’t touch you. You are my mother!”
He cried all the way back home, and told his wife: “I won’t try to stop her again.” His wife replied: “It is a blessing your mother gained good health from practicing Falun Dafa!”
Since then, my son has not tried to stop me.
One day, I received an urgent call from my eldest son: “Mom, I fell down. The doctor said my leg is broken.” I said, “Son, don’t be afraid. I’m coming to the hospital right away.” .
I rushed to the hospital and saw that my son could not move at all. His mother-in-law suggested we hire two people to take care of him. I said there was no need to hire anyone, that I would take care of him myself.
She was uncertain: “You are 60 years old. You cannot do it day and night all by yourself!” I eventually convinced her I would be able to stay and take care of him just fine.
At lunch time, I helped to deliver food to patients and clean up afterwards. When the hospital canteen was making dumplings, I went to help.
My son’s doctor was an older man. One day he asked how old I was and was surprised to learn I was 64. “You look really healthy! And you are such a kind person,” the doctor said. “There are too few good people nowadays!”
“I am a Falun Dafa practitioner,” I replied.“ He was surprised. I then asked if he knew about Falun Dafa. “A little bit. There are people in my village practicing it, but I don’t know them well.”
I began to explain to him that the whole world knows Falun Dafa is good, but the CCP does not like it and launched a brutal persecution. “The CCP arrested, detained, and sent numerous practitioners to jail. They even kill practitioners and harvest organs for profit! Many good Chinese people were forced to join the CCP’s organizations. If someone is a member of the CCP, he or she will be punished when the CCP is eliminated. I advise people to withdraw from the CCP organizations. This will be the only way to keep safe.”
“I now understood why Falun Dafa practitioners keep telling people to quit the CCP.” the doctor said. “I am not a party member, but I was in the CCP’s Youth League and Young Pioneers. Please help me quit.”
A few days later, I was having lunch with about 20 people, including the doctor, his four students, and patients. The doctor suddenly turned to me and said loudly: “Could you please tell everyone here about Falun Dafa?”
I stood up. “Does anyone know what Falun Dafa is?” I began to explain about the practice, the CCP’s persecution, and why everyone should quit the Party. Everyone listened carefully. The next day, I helped many of them to quit the CCP, including the doctor’s students.
In the hospital, many people came and went. So I took every opportunity to tell them the truth.
One day, a new patient moved into my son’s room. I planned to clarify the truth to him when my son went to sleep, since I did not want him to worry about my safety. I began to chat with the new patient. I asked him if he heard of withdrawing from the CCP in order to keep safe. He said he heard of it but he did not withdraw.
I explained: “When you joined the CCP organizations, you were asked to pledge to give your whole life to the CCP. An oath cannot be made casually. It will be fulfilled. Only by keeping distance from the Party can one survive during a catastrophe. Do you understand what I mean?”
“Now I understand,” he said. “I did not join the Party. Could you please help me to withdraw from Youth League and Young Pioneers?” He was discharged from the hospital a few days later.
The doctor predicted my son’s injury would take at least three months to heal, but he was walking in just one month. After we returned home, my son’s mother-in-law said: “Falun Dafa is indeed amazing! You were able to take care of him day and night for a month!” She smiled: “I’m going to practice Falun Dafa too!”
