A Tuidang volunteer, Chongqing, China | Minghui.org
Ms. Li and I both practice Falun Dafa and are volunteer at the Tuidang center. We went to a village in the countryside to tell people about the persecution and help them quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
At one home, the residents, a couple in their 60s, were feeding their chickens. We greeted them, but they did not pay much attention to us. I told the man his chickens looked healthy.
“We are here with important information for your safety,” I said.
The man was indifferent and responded, “What do you mean? We are doing fine.”
When Ms. Li began to talk to them about Falun Dafa, the woman asked if we practiced, and I told her we did. The man said, “How dare you come here to tell us about Falun Dafa!”
Ms. Li continued, “The core of Falun Dafa’s teachings is Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Do you think Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is wrong?”
“Then why doesn’t the government allow you people to practice?” the man asked.
I said: “Let me give you a little background. Falun Dafa teaches people to be good, and those that practice it are very healthy. In no time at all, 100 million people began practicing–exceeding the total membership of the CCP. Former Chinese president Jiang Zemin was jealous of its popularity and fearful that he would lose control over the people. To build up his own reputation, he misused his power to slander Falun Dafa. He plundered the nation’s financial resources to persecute and suppress Falun Dafa.”
Just then, a young boy came skipping in, calling to his grandparents. When he saw us, he came to a sudden stop.
He said, “We have guests! Please sit down. I will get you something to drink.”
Such a polite boy was surely not an ordinary child. After he tended to us, we began to chat with him. He told us his name, that he was eight years old and in the third grade. He was very articulate.
Ms. Li asked him, “Do you wear the red scarf?” (Meaning, “Was he a member of the Young Pioneers, a CCP youth organization?”)
“I used to, but not any more,” he replied.
“Why is that?” I asked.
He said, “Because I read a booklet called Understanding. It said that the red scarf was dyed with dead people’s blood. I heard about ghosts, and if that is true, wouldn’t it have ghosts on it? That cannot be good, and that is why I now refuse to wear it.”
“Well said!” replied Ms. Li. “When you joined the Young Pioneers, you swore an oath, which means your surrendered your life to the ghosts, doesn’t it?”
“True,” said the boy.
Ms. Li said, “How about if I help you quit your membership in the Young Pioneers? Then you will be safe.”
He agreed. She asked him if he wanted to help his grandma and grandpa to quit, too.
His grandfather blurted out, “What do you know–you are just a child?”
He said, “I do know! That booklet said that 240 million people have already quit the Party. Only by quitting the Party can you be safe.”
He turned around and said to Ms. Li, “Please quit the CCP for my grandpa and grandma.”
Ms. Li said, “That would not count. They have to make that decision for themselves.”
With tear-filled eyes the boy said, “Grandpa, Grandma, if you do not quit, when calamity comes, you will not be safe. I do not want to live without you!”
His grandmother came over and gave the boy a hug. She said, “Don’t worry. Grandpa and I will quit!” The boy smiled.
When the boy’s father arrived, the boy told him what his grandparents had done and asked if he and his mother would quit, too.
“What do you think?” his father asked.
He replied, “This lady said that you have to make the decision yourself. I cannot decide for you.”
“All right, let this nice lady help us quit the CCP with our real names,” replied the father.
“Great!” shouted the boy. “Now we are all safe.” He thanked us.
I gave them flyers to read and pass on. The boy said he hoped that we would come to see him again. Then he repeated “Falun Dafa is great!” and “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is wonderful!”
This eight-year-old boy helped his entire family quit the CCP.
