The persecution of Falun Gong, which was launched in 1999 by Jiang Zemin, the former head of the Chinese communist regime, has not ended yet. However there are signs that many of the police officers who used to persecute practitioners are having second thoughts. Despite orders from higher level officials or the 610 Office, more and more officers are reluctant or have completely stopped harassing, arresting or detaining Falun Gong practitioners.

A practitioner in Chongqing filed a lawsuit against Jiang Zemin in June 2015. Two police officers came to her door in October 2015 and tried to intimidate her.

After they banged on the door, the practitioner decided to let them in. She wanted to tell them the reason why she sued Jiang.

While they listened to her recounting the persecution she suffered, they became quiet and nodded their heads intermittently. One of them asked whether she sued Jiang. She told them that she did and why.

“I used to suffer from many illnesses, and only after I practiced Falun Gong did I regain my health,” she said. “I am deeply grateful to the founder of this cultivation practice.”

Then she said, “Falun Gong is practiced in over 100 countries and is only persecuted in China. Jiang is the culprit who launched this persecution. Of course I am suing him so that Falun Gong can be redressed one day.”

When the practitioner suggested that the officers quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), they did so gladly.

Police Refuses to Arrest Falun Gong Practitioner

As a practitioner posted a flier with information about the lawsuits against Jiang Zemin, a passerby grabbed her and took out his phone to call the police.

The practitioner tried to tell him that the persecution was illegal and that Falun Gong was a righteous practice protected by the Chinese Constitution. The man refused to listen.

When an officer answered the phone, the person yelled, “A Falun Gong practitioner is posting fliers to create social disorder. Send someone quickly!”

While the person listened to the police, the practitioner took the phone from him and identified herself. She said, “This person is lying. I have a few fliers about filing a lawsuit against Jiang, not creating social disorder.”

The person took the phone back and asked if the police was coming. The officer told him, “I don’t have time. Tell her that she can leave now.”

The practitioner talked to him further about the persecution of Falun Gong.

“Many of those who participated in the persecution were arrested, including Zhou Yongkang, the former security czar.” she said. “Why don’t I give you a flier and you can take a good look at it?” The person left quickly.
