They can also now learn the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong- something inaccessible to them in China. “The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has defamed and suppressed Falun Gong for 16 years. Chinese people need to know the truth and stop blindly following the regime.” said Ms. Chen, a Tuidang volunteer.

Agreeable retired 610 Office official

One day Ms. Chen greeted a tourist and handed him a pamphlet explaining the practise of Falun Gong.  “I have read some of these materials. Actually I used to work at a 610 Office in the police department, but I was never involved in arresting Falun Gong practitioners.” said the man. The 610-office was formed in 1992 as an independent, and more powerful entity of the Chinese police system, and was created for the sole purpose of spearheading the persecution of Falun Gong. The man then asked Ms, Chen: “Isn’t Falun Gong too political?” Ms. Chen replied, “Please take a step back… before the persecution started in July 1999, would you have considered  Falun Gong political?” Ms. Chen explained that practitioners wanted nothing but to freely practice their belief. Because practitioners from all walks of life refused to give up their belief many were arrested, detained, and tortured, often to death. Many more became victims of live organ harvesting- having their organs forcefully removed whilst they were still alive. “When an innocent person is murdered and calls for help, would you call that being ‘political’?” “What you say makes sense,” the man nodded. “As you know, the persecution is still continuing right now. That’s why we want people be clear on what is right and what is wrong. Also, following the CCP to harm innocent people won’t do a person any good. Have you thought of separating yourself from the regime?” The man agreed and thanked her.

Sixteen teenagers

Many Chinese students now travel overseas for summer vacations or summer camps. Ms. Chen was chatting with a girl from one of these tour groups. They were discussing independent thinking. Ms. Chen had observed western students to have a more independent thinking from Chinese students: “Many of the Chinese students work hard and memorize well what the teachers have taught. On the other hand, students in Western Society tend to be open-minded and more creative.” She then relayed it to thinking beyond false information the CCP has spread. “A similar situation applies to the CCP’s defamation of Falun Gong. A person should not be persecuted for being a good person.” Ms. Chen then asked if the girl had joined any CCP organizations, she then helped her quit the Youth League. The girl went back to her group and more of the group’s students came up to talk to Ms. Chen. In the end, 15 students renounced their memberships with CCP organizations.

Royal family’s history with CCP

One young tourist was a descendant of the Manchu royal family. He talked about his family history experiences with the CCP. The communists had confiscated his family fortunes and killed some of his family members. “The CCP is really bad, and it would not accept good people like you,”  he told Ms. Chen.

Traditional China is not communist

Another tourist was first reluctant to listen to volunteer’s conversation about the true devious nature of the CCP because he could not separate China from its communist leadership. But after listening to volunteers, he changed his attitude and quit the CCP. “I didn’t realize until today that China is different from the Chinese Communist Party. We should cherish traditional culture while giving up on the Party. In fact, China will become better without the Party.” Ms. Chen said that more Chinese are becoming aware of the facts about Falun Gong. He then turned to Ms. Chen, “The CCP may soon collapse. We sincerely hope to meet you again in China.”]]>

Chinese Authorities in Coronavirus Epicenter Have Begun Partially Shutting Down the Internet

According to Zeng’s friends, the outbreak in Caidian and Jiangxia districts is severe. Local authorities are afraid that people will expose the truth about the outbreak to the outside world by posting videos online, they said. Purpose Gu He is an observer of internet censorship in China. He told the Chinese-language Epoch Times that such tactics are par for the course for the Chinese regime. “As early as 2009, the Chinese government cut off the internet in the whole Xinjiang region, to a local area network for 312 days,” Gu said. “It uses this method to control people’s speech.” The internet blackout in Xinjiang, home to 25 million people—many of whom are Uyghur Muslim minorities—was reported by several human rights groups and media at the time. Chinese authorities...
